In most online casino poker games, if players are dealt a bad hand then the only sensible option available is to fold. This comes with a twinge of disappointment at having to give up the ante wager without a fight. It is for this reason that WagerWorks has introduced a unique casino poker game titled Second Chance Three Card Poker. In this game players can ask for a replacement of the hand dealt. However, this benefit comes with a price. The player has to double the ante wager and thus double his risk. WagerWorks is the online gaming division of International Game Technology (IGT), which is a leader in supplier of games and equipment to land casinos. Second Chance Three Card Poker has been converted to the online format from an IGT land casino game.

Second Chance Three Card Poker begins with the player placing the ante wager and clicking the Deal button. Three cards are dealt to the player. The player cannot fold. If he is satisfied with the hand, he can stand. If he wants a replacement then he should click the Second Chance button. He will be dealt another hand and simultaneously the second chance bet, equal to the ante bet, will be automatically wagered. There is no further replacement allowed. After the player’s final hand is decided three cards are dealt to the dealer. If the dealer’s hand is less than king high then it will automatically be replaced. This replacement will also be done only once, and the dealer’s second hand will stand. The player’s hand and the dealer’s hand are compared in the usual three card poker manner and the higher ranked hand wins.

If the dealer’s hand is higher ranked then the player will lose both his bets. If both hands are equally ranked then both the bets will be returned to the player. If the player has the higher ranked hand then he will be paid out on both his bets as follows. A straight flush will pay 6 to 1. A three of a kind will pay 4 to 1. A straight will pay 3 to 2. All other hands will pay 1 to 1.

Second Chance Three Card Poker also offers a Best Hand Bonus payout. In order to be eligible for this, players must place a best hand bet before the cards are dealt. At the end of the game, if either the player final hand or the dealer final hand is a flush or better, the player is paid according to the Best Hand Bonus pay table. The best hand bet cannot exceed twice the ante bet. If both player hand and dealer hand are a flush or better, the player is paid only once based on the highest hand. Players need not make a second chance bet to be eligible for a Best Hand Bonus payout. The payouts are as follows. A flush will pay 2 to 1. A straight will pay 3 to 1. A three of a kind will pay 12 to 1. A straight flush will pay 15 to 1. Three aces will pay 35 to 1.

Second Chance Three Card Poker is available at all WagerWorks online casinos like Virgin Casino. This table game contains the usual WagerWorks speed, audio and graphics options. There are also several game play options that increase the convenience of navigating through the game.
