2018 was a year of hyped of video slots releases. Games suppliers raised expectations sky high with announcements and then delivered. 2019 is not likely to be any different. Two announcements that were made in 2018 are likely to fructify sometime this year. This is to remind players what can be expected in these video slots.

Agent Jane Blonde has for decades been a popular title at Microgaming online casinos. She has been typed as womankind’s answer to James Bond. In July 2018, Microgaming announced a sequel to this video slot titled Agent Jane Blonde Returns. The sequel is being developed by Stormcraft Studios, exclusively for licensed Microgaming operators. Some details were released by Microgaming. Agent Jane Blonde Returns will have the standard five reels and three rows with 15 paylines. The artwork has been inspired by neon and retro waves and will be absolutely stunning. The gaming features will include stacked wilds and respins. The announcement was made at the iGB Live exposition in Amsterdam. David Reynolds Games Publisher at Microgaming, said, “Following the huge success of Fortunium, we are so excited for Stormcraft Studios’ next release with Agent Jane Blonde Returns.” He added that the sequel will take players back into Agent Jane Blonde’s world of action and espionage. The sequel video slot is sure to be a hit with both fans of the original and new players when it goes live.

In November 2018 NetEnt announced a horse racing slot with legendary jockey Peter Scudamore to create its first sports branded product. Scudamore is eight-time Champion Jockey and one of the most well-known figures in the sport. In his racing career of 15 years Scudamore’s recorded 1,678 winners and later became a trainer and the sport’s well-respected expert. The licensed title will utilise Scudamore’s image rights, loved voice and actual racing content in the themed in-game features like free spins. The online slot game is due for release during the 2018/19 National Hunt season in time for the excitement of the highlight events like the Cheltenham Festival and Grand National at Aintree. Bryan Upton, Director of Game Products at NetEnt said that this was a landmark product for NetEnt and he was sure slots players and racing fans would be thrilled with the results when the game was launched. He said, “From our first conversation, NetEnt’s commitment to innovation and passion for creating fantastic products was clear. I am delighted we are joining forces to launch a new slots game that will capture the unbeatable, exhilarating racing experience.”
