If you love playing at online casinos then you probably love movies with casino action as well. Here are five of the best that involve gambling to a greater or smaller extent.

If you thought gamblers are superstitious then check out the movie The Cooler. In casino parlance a cooler is a terribly unlucky person whose mere presence at the gambling tables brings bad luck to the players. Each casino has a cooler and when a winning streak is on he or she is summoned to cool things down. The movie stars William H. Macy as Bernie Lootz. Lootz is a down on his luck ex-gambling addict who is employed by the Shangri-La casino as a cooler.

Rounders has a young Matt Damon playing a college student, who attempts to pay his fees through high-stakes poker game against a poker baron. The movie highlights how different the underground world of nosebleed poker is from the atmosphere of swanky Vegas casinos. Apart from highlighting the inherent danger in such games, the movie depicts realistic table banter and poker strategy.

Any list of casino movies has to feature James Bond action. The best is the newer version of Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig as Bond. Bond has to play Texas Hold’em poker against a terrorist banker known as Le Chiffre in order to stop the villain from winning and recouping his client’s money that was lost through misadventure. The showdown takes place in the iconic Monte Carlo. The original version of Casino Royale and Ian Fleming’s novel had baccarat instead of poker.

Ocean’s Eleven is the first of the Ocean trilogy. Danny Ocean, Rusty Ryan and Reuben Tishkoff plan to simultaneously rob three of the biggest casinos on The Strip, the Bellagio, The Mirage, and the MGM Grand. The Nevada Gaming Commission requires casinos to have enough cash on hand to cover all their patrons' bets. The robbery is set on the night of a highly anticipated boxing match, in which the Bellagio vault alone is expected to contain more than $160 million. They recruit eight former colleagues and criminal specialists making their team to eleven.

Casino is perhaps the most famous gambling move of all time. Its name has something to do with this and the fact that it was directed by the celebrated Martin Scorsese. The epic film involves a mob-controlled casino, mafia enforcers, violence and seduction. The star cast is as legendary as the director and includes Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone. The movie has memorable casino scenes that will thrill any gambling person.
