Solitaire is a card game that has several variants. The underlying concept is to start with a randomly dealt arrangement of cards and move the cards into suited stacks following the prescribed rules. The leading software provider Cryptologic has based its Casino Solitaire on one of the simplest solitaire variants. This game is a big hit among players who enjoy testing their skill, rather than relying merely on luck.

The first things players need to understand about Cryptologic Casino Solitaire are the stakes and the payouts. The basic stakes are designated as “bet per card” and it varies from $0.02 to $1.00. The options available are $0.02, $.05, $0.10, $0.20, $0.50 and $1.00. Because Cryptologic Casino Solitaire is played with a single deck of 52 cards the total wager per game is 52 times the bet per card. If the player has selected the bet per card as $1.00 his total bet will automatically be $52.00. The win rate per card is four times the bet per card. The total payout at the end of the game is the total number of cards that the player manages to transfer to the suit stacks multiplied by the win rate per card. If the player has wagered $1 per card and he manages to transfer all 52 cards to the suit stacks then he will receive a payout of $208 against his total wager of $52. If the player transfers less than 13 cards to the suit stacks then his payout is less than his total wager. If the player transfers 13 cards then he breaks even. For every additional card transferred beyond the 13th card the player wins the win rate per card.

The game play in Cryptologic Casino Solitaire is as follows. The player first selects the bet per card. The applicable win rate per card is automatically displayed on the screen. When the player clicks the Deal button the cards are dealt and the total wager per game is deducted from the player’s balance. The cards are dealt as in the standard, draw three solitaire game. Seven columns are stacked with cards, with increasing number of cards in each column. There are four vacant cells above these columns where the suit stacks are to be built starting from the ace upwards. In order to aid the building of the suit stacks, the cards can be removed from the columns for building downwards in alternate red and black cards. The play deck is displayed on the top left. Three cards are drawn at a time and the last face up card is available for play. When the play deck is turned over thrice the game ends.

The Undo button allows players to undo the last move in certain conditions. When the Undo move is not allowed the button is disabled. The amount in the Paid cell displays the amount won by the player while the game is in progress. Each time a card is transferred to the suit stacks the amount in the Paid cell is enhanced by the win rate. When the player is unable to make any further moves the game ends. The amount in the Paid cell is transferred to the player’s balance and the cell is reset to zero. Casino Solitaire can be played at all Cryptologic online casinos like InterCasino.
