When the slider is set at the central level, there are two angels on reel 1, two angels on reel 2, an angel and a devil on reel 3, two devils on reel 4 and two devils on reel 5. This does not indicate that these wild symbols will always be displayed when the reels stop. When the slider is shifted to the most conservative level, the extreme left on the screen, this is what happens. There are now four angels on reel 1, four angels on reel 2, two angels on reel 3 and no wild cards (devils or angels) on reels 4 and 5. This reduces the chance of winning combinations with four or five symbols and hence big payouts become rarer. But the increased number of wild symbols in reels 1 and 2 enhance the likelihood of winning combinations with three symbols. Hence winning combinations occur more frequently.

When the slider is shifted to the most volatile level, the extreme right on the screen, this is what happens. There are now four devils on reel 5, four devils on reel 4, two devils on reel 3 and no wild cards (devils or angels) on reels 2 and 1. The absence of wild symbols on the earlier reels reduces the chance of winning combinations. But when winning combinations appear they are usually with four or five symbols and therefore they pay big. The 2x multiplier associated with the devil makes the payouts even bigger.
