The first mega online slots tournament of 2012 at Omni Casino kicked off on January 15. It will run till January 31. It is titled Big Chill because of the cold outside but the wagering is anything but cold. The Big Chill slots tournament offers a prize pool of $9,999. The Big Chill has the standard format evolved last year by Omni Casino. It is a multi-level tournament that caters to three “bet ranges” of slots wagering. Explaining the reason for this, Omni Casino says, “It does not matter if you’re a low bettor or a high roller…everyone has a chance at winning a prize within their betting levels!”

Participation in the Big Chill tournament is automatic and free when players wager on the designated Playtech online slots at Omni Casino. Players are free to join the tournament anytime during the promotion period but the earlier they start playing the better is their chance of winning a prize. For each real money spin of $0.45 or higher on any designated Omni Casino slot game of their choosing, players will earn one tournament spin point. All slot games that offer between 15 and 40 paylines are eligible for wagering in the Big Chill online tournament. Players will be ranked on one of the three leader boards on the basis of points earned depending on their average bet range for the entire tournament. The leader board will be updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the promotion period. Special features of the Big Chill slots tournament are the $109.99 and $299.99 ‘Chiller’ Prize Boosters. Players who can spin past 74,999 spin points for the entire tournament will be awarded an extra $109.99 to their winning prize. And if they spin past 119,999 points they will win an extra $299.99.

The average bet range is defined as the total real money wagered amount divided by the total real money slot spins. If a player wagers $1,500 over the entire tournament in 2,500 real money spins then his average bet range will be $0.60 (1,500/2,500). The lowest leader board will cover the average bet range from $0.45 to $1.49. The prize pool for this leader board will be $4,160, which will be shared by 40 players. The top player will win $799. The middle leader board will cover the average bet range from $1.50 to $3.99. The prize pool for this leader board will be $3,005, which will be shared by 15 players. The top player will win $999. The highest leader board will cover the average bet range from $4.00 onwards. The prize pool for this leader board will be $2,834, which will be shared by 6 players. The top player will win $1,399.
