In its latest press release, Microgaming has introduced Stormcraft Studios, a new independent game studio that will be supplying exclusive content to its licensees. For the past few years Microgaming has built up a group of independent games developers to augment its own supplies of online casino games, particularly video slots. This is to shield its licensees from competition from multi-software online casinos. The objective is to offer a new surge of premium content that will bring greater choice and innovation to Microgaming operators and their players. The other studios that Microgaming has promoted are Rabcat, Just For The Win and Triple Edge. The press release says that the talented team of Stormcraft Studios will be dedicated to crafting epic slots games.

The first product from Stormcraft Studios will be the video slot Fortunium, which will go live at online casinos like 32Red, Jackpot City and Platinum Play on Wednesday June 20. 18, Fortunium will be the first official game release by Stormcraft Studios.

Actually, Fortunium was first unveiled in February 2018 during the ICE Totally Gaming expo. At that time it was not known, that the slot machine is being developed by Stormcraft Studios. It has a steampunk theme that Microgaming has successfully used in earlier slot machines like Phantom Cash and Steam Punk Heroes. Fortunium has been described as a golden city and an opulent metropolis of prosperity and abundance. The stunning graphics depict soaring skylines. The game includes a wealth of innovative features likes Mystery Reels, Stacked Mystery Symbols and a powerful Win Booster device to ramp up rewards. Fortunium will be released simultaneously across all Microgaming platforms. The design has also been fully optimised for portrait gameplay on mobile devices.

From the press release it would seem that the team at Stormcraft Studio is an offshoot of Microgaming. It is reported that the talented team at Stormcraft is guided by decades of industry experience and commercial success with games like Mega Moolah and Immortal Romance. Terence Igesund, Creative Director at Stormcraft Studios, said, “Entertainment and craftsmanship are at the core of everything we do at Stormcraft Studios. The careful consideration we give the user experience will be unmistakable in all the upcoming games that we are developing exclusively for Microgaming.”

Keep tuned to this page for a full review of Fortunium video slot in the next few days. In February Microgaming had also announced Cash of Kingdoms. It is not known when this slot game will go live and who is developing it for Microgaming.
