Another multi-million progressive jackpot has been hit. This time it is Yggdrasil’s flagship progressive jackpot slot titled Joker Millions. The winner is a lucky player from Sweden, who has wished to remain anonymous. The amount won is SEK 80 million, which works out to €7.8 million. The hit took place on Friday November 9 from the mobile gaming platform of LeoVegas online casino. The massive hit was from a wager of only 50 cents.

Joker Millions was launched in April 2015. This is the ninth hit on this progressive jackpot slot and the largest till date. The next highest hit was about €5.2 million, which took place over a year ago. The average win has been €2.3 million and the average time between hits is 18 weeks. After being set to its seed level, the progressive jackpot has already risen to €1.9 million. So this is one game that has to be on your radar.

Joker Millions is a 5x3 video slot with 25 paylines. It uses the retro symbols from classic 3-reel machines like cherries, plums, lemons, watermelons, bells and 7s. One of its highlights is the "freeze and re-spin" feature. All winning symbols are locked and the other symbols are spun again for free. The Jackpot Spins bonus round is triggered by landing five joker symbols on the reels. The reels are spun again with the joker symbols locked. If additional joker symbols appear on a respin, the process continues. In order to hit the progressive jackpot you have to fill all 15 positions on the reels with joker symbols.

Joker Millions is one of Yggdrasil’s two global progressive jackpot games that were launched in 2015. The other is Empire Fortune. The total sum of progressive jackpots rewarded through Yggdrasil has now reached a €26.7 million. Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil, said, “We are thrilled to see a player win such a life-changing sum of money, especially this close to Christmas and while playing one of our slots games on mobile.” He added that Joker Millions was their first progressive slot and it is beloved by both operators and players. More operators continue to join the Yggdrasil network, and this will lead to the progressive jackpots rise faster in the future.

James Ford, Head of Casino at LeoVegas, also released a statement. He said that record progressive wins like this always create excitement. The online casino had been keeping a close eye on this one, hoping that it would be hit from LeoVegas.
