Microgaming is one of the gaming industry’s leading entertainment providers. It portfolio includes progressive jackpot online casino games, mainly slot machines, that are stand alone or linked. In 2018, Microgaming continued to live up to its reputation of generating life-changing wins. It paid out a staggering €154,954,249 (almost € 155 million) through its progressive jackpot network.

The Microgaming press release revealed that in 2018 nine lucky players took home seven-figure sums from Microgaming’s progressive jackpot games, which means that nine millionaires were created at Microgaming online casinos. The amount totalled to more than €40 million in winnings. The largest jackpot win was through Microgaming’s world-renowned flagship title Mega Moolah. The Mega progressive of this slot game delivered a whopping €18,915,872.81 on Friday 28 September at Grand Mondial Casino. This was won by a player on a mobile device, indicating the game supplier’s popularity even on the mobile gaming platform. This set a new payout record for a single hit in online gaming, eclipsing the €17,879,645.12 that Microgaming paid out in 2015.

Microgaming also listed some other big wins of 2018 on Mega Moolah. On January 14 a €2,424,117.20 prize was triggered at Zodiac Casino. Then €4,769,344.11 was awarded to a Royal Vegas online casino player on 27 February. Nine days later, the progressive network created another multi-millionaire when €4,365,843.63 prize was won at Captain Cook’s online casino. Grand Mondial Casino has been in the thick of Microgaming payouts, because €4,603,056.85 prize was won by one of its players on April 19. On 24 June, a massive prize of €4,931,205.46 was won at Jackpot City. The other progressive slot to hit the headlines was Major Millions 5 Reel. It paid out €1,896,616.91 on February 2 to a Betsafe player and £1,515,371.53 on August 22 to a RedKings player.

2019 should be as good, if not better. Three weeks into the year, a lucky 32Red player scooped up a fantastic €1,162,021.24 jackpot playing Major Millions. The network has paid out an incredible €980 million to date. Mega Moolah jackpot is currently topping €17 million, therefore the total payouts will definitely clear the €1 billion mark soon. This unique milestone highlights the enduring popularity and success of Microgaming’s progressive games.

John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming, congratulated all the lucky winners in 2018. He said, “We are proud to host the industry’s largest progressive jackpot network, which paid out more than €150 million last year, setting a number of payout records in the process.” The excitement is whether Mega Moolah will set another record with its next hit.
