If you are tired of playing the same type of slot games, you should give Reel Play Poker a try. It is an online casino game from the software provider Microgaming that combines elements of slot machines with those of video poker. You will find it under video poker in the games menu, but do not let that bother you. Reel Play Poker is live at all Microgaming online casinos such as Platinum Play, All Jackpots and Spin Palace.

As in Microgaming online slots you first select the number of paylines, the number of coins per payline and the coin size. Reel Play Poker has 20 paylines and players can wager up to 20 coins per payline. Again as in slot machines it is better to play with all paylines enabled. The game begins like a multi hand video poker variant. Five cards from a single deck are dealt in a demonstration reel that is displayed below the main reels. You select which cards you want to hold.

The main reels are in the regular video slot configuration with five reels and three rows. 20 paylines run across the reels and are defined as in slot machines. Instead of symbols Reel Play Poker uses playing cards. The reels that correspond to the cards marked as held are first filled with those cards. This is again similar to an online multi hand video poker game. The remaining reels spin and are randomly filled with other cards. The final video poker hands are evaluated in all 20 paylines. In a 20 hand video poker game, there are 20 independent hands running horizontally formed with 100 cards. In Reel Play Poker the 20 hands are formed with 15 cards. The hands are formed by the crisscrossing of paylines across the three rows as in slots games, with cards being involved in more than one hand.

The payout table does not show payouts for like symbols aligned from left to right. It is the regular Jacks or Better video poker payout table. The payouts start with a pair of jacks poker hand and go up to a royal flush. The payout for a royal flush is 800 coins per coin wagered. If you have played with 20 coins per payline the royal flush payout will be 16,000 coins. The payout for each winning payline is added and credited to the player's balance. For example if all 20 paylines have a royal flush then the payout will be 320,000 coins.
